Born to the tail end of the nineties (1999) in Seattle, I was surrounded by a world pre-technology boom. With a family who had recently emigrated from Lebanon, the arts naturally filled our childhood, but never encouraged as a career. My practice is an ongoing exploration of myself and the questions occupying my thoughts surrounding how we love, remember, and form our identities. Through cinematic, dreamlike imagery, I gather those scattered puzzle pieces to revisit a feeling that spans love, loneliness, and the interplay of the feminine and masculine. A large part of my creations is attributed to my love for beauty and the divine. Drawing inspiration from music, art history, fashion, the environment, and cinema - particularly the intimacy and atmosphere found within European and French new wave filmmaking - the imagery I lean into resists commercial convention in favor of a melancholic softness, prioritizing texture and narrative. My photography and visual films are a form of world-building. Each project becomes a space where memory, fantasy, and emotion coexist. Collaborating with brands in the fashion space including Versace, Prada Beauty, and Givenchy, I have found continued interest in expanding to directing and creating visual projects that inform culture and bring together the worlds of fashion, film, and music.
